Earth and Man

Though nonfiction books are a bore to read but Bill Bryson's 'A short history of nearly everything' is a good read. He has written about almost everything from the start of the earth to till date; giving some hilarious details and peeks into the life of scientists and their ilks, making the book a good page turner. It also has some grave facts about people who have majorly contributed in increasing the lead levels in the atmosphere to a pretty dangerous level, and killed the last of animals to make them extinct forever. While reading 'A short history of nearly everything' human seems nothing more than a series of experiments merely done with numerous permutations and combinations and added to it the process of evolution. Ditto goes for this entire universe. Among the myriad creatures who have once existed and are now extinct soon will be our name too. Nothing is immortal not even this earth or the sun. Then why is human race so mean, calculative and is almost next to God when it comes to dealing with the life of other living beings, be they of their own kind or not. If not completely true at least in part it is, "If you want to save earth kill mankind." Though true that one day everything will be wiped out from the face of the earth and things will start all new but we are just accelerating the process.

Earth is beautiful, just sit for 5 minutes under a tree, near a river, in the falling rain, in falling snow or watch the flowers or babies play or animals .............why do we hurry so much in life, just ignoring the beauty in everything.

writing after a long time

My last post was in June last year, almost a year and still don't feel like writing. It is the same case, like with many, "want to write but when I sit all the thoughts become vague." But all this time I have gone through so many blogs by my friends, foes and unknowns. Reading blogs is so much fun sometimes that is it better than writing one. Knowing that just a handful of people will be reading your writeup and still continuing to write with same passion for months and months is a commendable work. Be it analyzing a situation or topic and presenting your views on it or bringing out your daily thoughts and life and putting it on paper for others to read; people do good job.
Just few days back I changed my dishwashing liquid from Ajax to Ivory, and the whole task of dishwashing changed for me and I wanted to write so much about it. The chore that had always been so boring to me has now become a happy one. This is because just a little drop of Ivory is tough on grease, leaves your hands soft, and gives light scent which makes the whole task enjoyable. This doesn't mean I keep doing dishes whole day. Well maybe a thing to laugh that I am writing about Ivory but what else will a housewife, who is hardly into jewelry, have to write if not about her new pots and pans or about her new vacuum cleaner.
